TWS 101 | FAQ part 2 - Everything about Bluetooth Ture Wireless Earbuds

Q. What Does Bluetooth Do?

A. As we said above, Bluetooth technology enables short-range wireless communication. One popular usage is to connect a smartphone to wireless earphones for listening to music or chatting on the phone. If you've ever linked your smartphone to your car's audio system or a GPS navigation device for hands-free calls and texts, you've used Bluetooth. It also powers smart speakers, such as the Amazon Echo and Google Home devices, and smart home devices such as lights and thermostats. This wireless technology can work even through walls, but if there are too many obstructions between the audio source and the receiver, the connection will fizzle. Keep this in mind when placing Bluetooth speakers around your home or office.

Q. What is Bluetooth 5?

A. Bluetooth 5 is the latest version of the Bluetooth wireless communication standard. It’s commonly used for wireless headphones and other audio hardware, as well as wireless keyboards, mice, and game controllers. Bluetooth is also used for communication between various smart home and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. It is announced on 16 June 2016 to come in late 2016 or early 2017. Bluetooth 5 is here and with its release, developers to meet all the advanced standard of the wireless world with more privacy and security. It is setting the stage for the future. Bluetooth is revolutionizing how people experience the IoT. Its specification includes low power consumption, inexpensive hardware and, small size implementations. Why Are True Wireless Earbuds with Bluetooth 5.0 very Good Now?

Q.What can Bluetooth 5 do for true wireless earbuds?

Bluetooth 5 has been developed not only with current technical standards in mind but the end-user too.
For instance, if people used Bluetooth to download security patches, while the rapid transfer of data is useful in a technical sense, it also works in saving the user time. A slower connection could cause the user to either give up or alert them that something went awry, when in fact there’s nothing wrong other than it’s a slow connection.
Data is passed between devices more often than ever before (e.g. smartwatch to a smartphone) and so Bluetooth 5 needs to handle data accrued over an extended period of time. With the increase in the amount of data it can handle, that means more data can be transferred.
For true wireless earbuds, it improved as follows:
  • Twice of Speed
  • Improved Range
  • Battery Life Isn’t (Much) of an Issue for Wireless earbuds
  • Message Capacity
  • Support for IoT devices
  • Outstanding Support  Dual Audio
  • Compatibility

Q. What is the main advantages of bluetooth5 comparing with BlueTooth 4.2?

A. Threefold: range, speed, and bandwidth. The wireless range of Bluetooth 5 maxes out at 120 meters, compared to 30 meters for Bluetooth v4.2. This increase in range, plus the ability to transmit audio to two devices, means that people could send audio to multiple rooms in a house, create a stereo effect in one space, or share audio between two sets of headphones. The extended range also helps it better communicate the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem (i.e. smart devices that connect to the internet).
Another area in which Bluetooth 5 adds improvement is with Beacon technology, in which businesses, such as retail can beam messages to nearby potential customers with deal offers or advertisements.
Q.Do Bluetooth 5 earbuds Sound Good (Enough)?
A. Wired earbuds still sound better than Bluetooth ones in ideal circumstances, but that’s about it. The latest incarnation of Bluetooth has enough bandwidth for CD-level audio quality; even higher if you’re using an Android handset and headphones that support AptX. If you’re listening to streaming music or MP3s you pirated in 2004 on a noisy bus, Bluetooth probably isn’t the weak link in your audio setup.  Similarly, a cheap pair of wired earbuds will sound way worse than a decent set of Bluetooth earbuds. Even my Beats, under Apple’s influence, don’t sound as if a child has been given control of the bass. Yes, the Bluetooth ones will cost a good bit more but, as we’ll get to in a minute, they’ll also last a lot longer, so you can afford to invest more.  If you’re looking for maximum sound quality, you’re better off getting custom-fitted monitors. But, if you just need something that sounds good when you listen to Spotify at your desk or while you go for a run, Bluetooth earbuds are more than enough.

Q. What is the range of Bluetooth 5 for true wireless earphone?

A. The latest Bluetooth version, Bluetooth 5 allows low-energy transmissions offering data range for more range. The theoretically proven range for Bluetooth 5 for a maximum of around 800 feet which is up to 4 times the range of Bluetooth 4.2 LE. Bluetooth 5 earphones support around 40m in the indoor environment and 200m in Line of Sight path in the outdoor environment.

Q. Is Bluetooth 5.0 true wireless earphone backward compatible?

A. Yes,  Bluetooth 5 earphones are totally backward-compatible with previously introduced Bluetooth smart technology such as Bluetooth 4.0, Bluetooth 4.1 and Bluetooth 4.2 devices. However, you can continue using your existing Bluetooth 4.2 and older devices.

Q. Is wireless the same as Bluetooth?

A. Not all wireless products are Bluetooth, However both wireless technology and Bluetooth control over the radio frequency. The main difference between these technologies are Bluetooth have short distance range while Wi-Fi provides high-speed access for large distance range. Earphones usually utilize Bluetooth instead of wifi because of signal interferon.

Q. Can I upgrade my Bluetooth version?

A. Here’s what you have to do. You can check what version of Bluetooth your smartphone or device support. If your device does not support the latest Bluetooth technology. You need to search a Bluetooth Adapter with current Bluetooth 5.0 version in the Bluetooth SIG website. By Plugging into USB Port, you can actually upgrade your device with the latest version. Since True Wireless Earbuds with Bluetooth 5.0 very Good Now, we suggest you will take this new age of it.

Q. How to check the Bluetooth version on Android?

A. You need to first enable Bluetooth on your Android Phone. Go to Settings > Applications > and Select Running Applications. Now you can find Bluetooth icon with Bluetooth Share and click on it. In the first service option, you will get your Bluetooth version. Go with the latest Bluetooth, you will be not disappointed.  True Wireless Earbuds with Bluetooth 5.0 very Good Now

Q. Bluetooth 4.0 Range vs 4.2 Range vs 5.0 Range?

A. Bluetooth 4 supports 50m in outdoor range and 10m in the indoor range making it low whilst Bluetooth 5 supports 200m in Line of Sight path in the outdoor environment and 40m in the indoor environment.  Bluetooth 5 earphones allow low-energy transmissions offering data range for more range.

Q.What smartphones are utilizing the Bluetooth 5?

A. We’ve seen a number of products include Bluetooth 5 in their specifications, and expect the rate of adoption to increase as the need for it grows.
For smartphones, Samsung has implemented Bluetooth 5 into several of its devices. 2017’s Galaxy S8 was the first smartphone to feature it and that was followed by the S8 Plus and Note 8. With appearances in the Galaxy S9 and S10 ranges, it’s become a standard feature in Samsung’s premium smartphone lineup, with the Dual Audio feature only possible because of Bluetooth 5.
And they’re not the only smartphones that carry it. Apple has jumped in on the fun with its iPhone 8, 8 Plus and XR smartphones. Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has plugged it into its 6, 6T, 7 and 7 Pro phones, as has Huawei’s P30 Pro, although recent news has thrown up a few roadblocks with that manufacturer.
If you can get your hands on an Android phone with Bluetooth 5.0 and Bluetooth 5.0 headphones, you’ll likely have a much better wireless audio experience than you would with the older Bluetooth standard.
iPhone users can get a good experience with Apple’s own AirPods or Beats headphones thanks to the W1 chip, but solid Bluetooth audio is easier to get on Android now, too. Bluetooth 5.0 should even improve wireless headphones on the iPhone if you choose to go for third-party Bluetooth 5.0 headphones instead of Apple headphones with a W1 chip.

Q. What products besides wireless earphones are utilizing the Bluetooth 5?

A. We’re seeing it crop up in wireless speakers with Marshall’s Kilburn II, Stanmore II, Stockwell II and Tufton including it. The Apple HomePod has Bluetooth 5 listed in its features but does not use it for streaming audio.
It’s also infiltrating headphones, though progress is slower and the majority of them are of the true wireless variety.  Astrotec's new S80 true wireless earbuds are compatible, as are HIFIMAN's TWS600 True Wireless earphones and Apple’s 2019 revision of its AirPods.
More devices, longer range, faster speeds. What's not to like?
Bluetooth is everywhere, and it’s only growing more commonplace. What started as a way to connect dorky-looking headsets has grown into a robust wireless protocol that links everything from headphones to heart monitors, wearables to weather stations.
