Shanling Releases Latest Firmware For UP2,UP4, & MW200

Shanling has released the latest firmware updates for its wireless Bluetooth devices, the Shanling UP2, UP4, and MW200. The latest update updates the UP2 to FW V1.7.5, UP4 to FW V1.3.0, and MW200 to FW V1.3.1. The latest firmware adds the volume memory setting in all the devices which can be enabled from the Shanling Controller app on your smartphones.

Shanling UP2 FW V1.7.5 & UP4 FW V1.3.0 Changelog:-

>Added Volume memory setting. It can be enabled from the Shanling Controller App.

The app needs to be updated to the latest version, V1.2 on Android/V1.0.4 on iOS.

>When used as a USB DAC, system volume settings will take effect.

>Improved connection process, reconnecting to paired devices will be faster and quicker.

Shanling MW200 FW V1.3.1 Changelog:-

>Added volume memory setting. It can be enabled in the Shanling Controller App.

The app needs to be updated to the latest version, V1.2 on Android/V1.0.4 on iOS.

How to update:-

Wireless OTA Update:-

>Connect Shanling UP2/UP4/MW200 to Android or iOS devices.

>Open Shanling Controller App.

>Make Sure App is updated to the latest version.

>In the App, Open the Side Menu(…).

>Click on “Bluetooth Device Control”.

>Tap on the arrow at the Shanling UP2/UP4/MW200. Start the update, wait until the app downloads, and installs the latest firmware on to your UP2/UP4/MW200.

Please Note:-

OTA update is unavailable for UP4 and UP2 from the early production runs. When attempted to update them OTA, the app will report an error at the end of the update process. These units can only be updated via the manual method through windows PC.

Manual Update:-

>Download the Update files from here.

>Extract the downloaded zip file.

>Make sure the “Firmware Upgrade” folder includes these items:-

1. “lib” folder: Do not alter or remove any of the files from this folder, do not rename this folder.

2. “ShanlingUpgradeTool.exe” application.

3. “DFU file with the new firmware upgrade, for example, “Shanling UP4 Firmware V1.3.0.dfu”.

Note: Only one DFU file can be located in folder, please delete any older DFU files and only keep the latest firmware DFU file.

>Run the “ShanlingUpgradeTool.exe” application(Run as administrator).

>Wait until the program automatically installs needed drivers.

>Connect Shanling UP2/UP4/MW200 to the computer with a USB cable. The LED light will light up.

>UP2: Press and hold the wheel until the blue LED light starts to blink, keep holding until light completely turns off.

>UP4: Press and hold the wheel and the Mode button at the same time, until the blue LED light starts to blink, keep holding until light completely turns off.

>MW200: Press and hold the power and volume down button at the same time, until LED turns off.

>Go to “Device Manager” on your PC and check if the “CSR BlueCore in DFU mode” item appears under “Universal Serial Bus controllers”.(If it doesn’t appear, disconnect your device from PC and repeat process).

>Click on “Start Upgrade” Button.

>Wait until the application finishes firmware upgrade.

>Now you can close the software and disconnect your device, firmware upgrade is finished.
