Shanling M8 Reference Level Audio Player Unveiled

After the humongous success of the Shanling M6 and the Shanling M6 Pro, Shanling has now unveiled its latest upcoming reference level digital audio player, the Shanling M8. The M6/M6 Pro has been their mid-level offering for quite some time now, and now it’s time for an upgraded player to be announced. The Shanling M8 is a flagship-grade portable hi-res audio player equipped with industry-leading chipsets and many more latest features. Shanling announced the price to be 1659$. The release for Shanling M8 is planned to be later this year in November.

Flagship AKM DAC Setup:-

The Shanling M8 is equipped with industry-leading powerful dual DAC chips from Asahi Kasei(AKM), the AK4499. It is a flagship-grade DAC chip that is usually found in TOTL DAC’s only. Delivering a high-end sound quality with high signal to noise ratio and high dynamic range are the key features of this chipset. It is capable of decoding PCM up to 32-Bit/768kHz, and DSD up to DSD512 natively and Shanling will opt a class-leading USB receiver chip to support these bit rates.

Interchangeable Headphone Socket:-

The main attraction so far with the Shanling M8 apart from the AK4499 DAC chips is the interchangeable headphone socket. Users can change the socket to different termination ports depending on their headphone/earphone termination port. It can be changed between 3.5mm single-ended, 4.4mm balanced, 2.5mm balanced, or 3.5mm pro(balanced). So whichever termination port you need, you can switch to it on your Shanling M8.

Open Android OS:-

With an open Android OS, we can use a countless number of Android applications on the M8. Powered by lightning-fast Snapdragon 430 CPU and 4GB of RAM the player provides a snappy user interface across several Android applications.

Not much is known about the upcoming Shanling M8, more details are supposed to be released in the upcoming weeks. But we do know that this beast of a player is featuring class-leading chipsets, has a reference-grade sound clarity output, and is priced at 1659$. It will be available later this year in November.
