Shangling M6 International Version DAP go on Sale on Black Friday | Hifigo

It was first show of Shanling M6 flagship Hi-res portable music player on the CIHE on September 7th-8th in Guangzhou. Not only the stylish design with 4.7 inch IPS touch screen but also the sound performance are extremely praised by the audiophiles at sites comparing with the DAP similar level.

Shanling M6, Chinese version have been on sale since September 16th,2019. Finally, those living out of China could enjoy it during the Black Friday shopping festival as well. Shanling M6 international version goes on Sale officially at price $ 499.

1. Same hardware, some significant changes in software.
2. International version includes “Accounts” and “Google” items in settings. They are missing from Chinese version.
3. International version comes with different pre-installed apps. On main screen you should see Via internet browser, Files, Gallery, APKPure in top row and Clock, Shanling, Settings and Supports apps in bottom row.
4. All international units can be identified by dedicated sticker on packaging. On back side of packaging, under sticker with serial number, should be sticker with “International Version” text.

Speaking, Shangling M6 will run on an open Android operating system with a proprietary Music player. The unit itself will be powered by a Snapdragon SoC and at the heart of the M6’s audio section are two DACs on a dual DAC configuration. 

Main Features & Specifications of Shanling M6 international version 

The Shanling M6 Hi-Res portable audio player is the company’s first full open Android-based DAP. Shanling opts a customized of modified Android OS to avoid problems with sound degradation caused by Android’s SRC. HiBy music player is gone and Shanling will be using their own Shanling music app as the default music player on M6. However, since it’s running on open Android, third-party apps are allowed to be installed as well.

The M6 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC and is paired with a 4GB of memory. There is a 32GB of storage (usable capacity is expected to be lower), but there is a single microSD card slot for the main storage. It adopts a nice 4.7-inch IPS HD touching display from Sharp.

At the heart of the Shanling M6 are two AK4495SEQ DAC chips in a dual-DAC setup. On top of that, these DACs will work together even in single-ended mode. The M6 will support up to 32bit/768kHz and up to DSD256 audio formats. It has both 2.5mm and 4.4mm balanced connectors, and 3.5mm unbalanced output as well. The output power is 143 mW@32ohm for the single-ended and 330 mW@32ohm for the balanced.

In terms of wireless connectivity, the Shanling M6 features Bluetooth 4.2 with support for LDAC, LHDC, aptX HD, aptX and SBC.  Finally, it will be powered by a 4,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Battery life is up to 12 hours for single-ended and up to 9 hours for balanced. The M6 measures 135.5mm x 68.5mm x 17mm and weighs around 220 grams.
