Hi-res in both wired and wireless modes
In its simplest terms, hi-res audio tends to refer to music files that have a higher sampling frequency and/or bit depth than CD - which is specified at 16bit/44.1kHz. What surprised us is Mi Flagship HIFI Hybrid Earphones get Hi-res certificated with both wired and wireless modes.
Sound Impression & Connections
The balanced armature drivers in the Mi Hifi earphone, in conjunction with the dynamic driver, have been tuned to provide a natural yet smooth-sounding frequency response, free from any dips or peaks. With the Mi HIFI earphones, you will get robust yet quick bass, wonderfully rich mids and treble dripping with detail and speed that only balanced armature drivers can provide. The 2BA+2DD earphones with a feeling that vocal is near. As expected, the soundstage is somewhat compact with a solid image.
1. Wired output with Hi-res 3.5mm to MMCX cableIt is not hard to power Mi Hifi Hybrid earphone 32 Ohm, but its performance will be improved much if the playing equipment with higher resolution.
2. Wired output with Hi-Res DAC cable with Type - C to MMCXIf your phone doesn't have a 3.5mm port, this pair of earphones would be a very good choice. Sound performance almost catches with the 3.5mm cable compared to the branded cellphones.
These earphones come with a Bluetooth 5.0 DAC amplifier that supports Hi-Res SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC.
Most of Bluetooth adapters cannot transmit files at Hi-res standard, but the blue adapter packed with the earphones support LDAC. Sony LDAC ™, is an audio coding technology for the transmission of High-Resolution Audio.
In Bluetooth mode, Mi hifi hybrid earphones bring many details at bass and highs, it is a little weak for mids, totally. It is a kind of V-shape. In terms of sound performance, the dynamic range is narrow than the other two modes.
Comfort
Mi hifi earphones are quite comfortable to wear. Due to its insertion depth, it is easy to get a nice seal using so many eartips choices. I had no issues wearing them during my extended listening sessions. But it's better to use the hook if you want it hanging over the ears.
