Topping Introduces E70 Velvet Flagship Desktop DAC With AK4499EX+AK4191 Premium DAC Chips

Earlier this year in October, Topping released its all-new E70 desktop DAC based on the flagship ESS DAC Chipset. E70 is a great sub-flagship DAC that delivers impressive sound at an attractive price tag. Today, Topping has released a brand new AKM DAC-based variant for the E70, presenting the all-new Topping E70 Velvet. You might have guessed from where did this “Velvet” came into the name of Topping. The featured DAC, the AK4499EX is a flagship 32-Bit DAC from AKM Technologies that is based on AKM’s Velvet Sound Verita Technology. AK4499EX has got exceptional characteristics for decoding high-resolution packing a rich tone and an outstanding level of detail!!

The primary change with this new E70 Velvet over the OG E70. While the OG model brought us crisp, detailed sound with its ES9038Pro DAC arrangement, the new E70 Velvet brings us the goodness of AKM’s flagship AK4499EX+AK4191EQ DAC Chipset. AK4499EX chip brings the highly-acclaimed Velvet Sound Verita technology that promises rich and smooth sound with the E70 Velvet. The device houses XMOS XU316 high-performance USB processor chipset that brings high-resolution PCM(up to 32-Bit/768kHz), DSD(up to DSD512), and DoP(DSD256) audio signals. E70 Velvet not just supports decoding high-resolution signals, but it handles them with full precision and promises quality output with ultra-low distortion in the output signal.

Topping E70 Velvet supports the latest Bluetooth V5.1 wireless connectivity for signal input. It supports most leading high-definition Bluetooth transmission protocols including LDAC, AptX  HD, AptX, and more. Apart from USB and Bluetooth, E70 Velvet also supports Coaxial and Optical digital inputs. It’s like a simple yet powerful and clean desktop DAC designed with all-latest engineering!!

Topping E70 Velvet features a 12V Trigger interface that has both an Active and Passive control system for your desktop chain. Once connected with compatible devices, all the devices in the chain(with a 12V trigger interface) can be turned on or off synchronously. The DAC also features an automatic on/off function. It automatically detects the active signal input and switches the input to the active mode. Similarly, when the E70 velvet is not in use for a short while, it automatically turns itself off.

Topping E70 Velvet has balanced XLR output and single-ended RCA output ports. Users can easily select the output mode to “XLR only”, “RCA only”, and “XLR+RCA both active” modes.
