As mentioned earlier, the DC-Tonfa features a precisely crafted R2R DAC architecture. It moves away from the typical Delta-Sigma designs and features an advanced 24-Bit 8-Channel fully balanced R2R architecture. This isn’t just another R2R implementation, iBasso has packed an astounding setup featuring 312 ultra-low temperature drift viking metal film resistors into this compact chassis. It is supported by a specialized 60-resistor hardware compensation network. This results in exceptional detail retrieval, organically rich tonality, and ultra-low distortion reduced to an absolute minimum.
To manage this complex discrete network, the DC-Tonfa utilizes iBasso’s proprietary FPGA algorithms alongside dual Accusilicon femtosecond crystal oscillators, ensuring a pristine, jitter-free presentation. Audiophiles will also appreciate the inclusion of a dedicated NOS (Non-Oversampling) mode alongside four custom digital filters to fine-tune the listening experience.
