Update in BTR5 comparing with BTR3

1. Update from Bluetooth 4.2 to Bluetooth 5.0

BTR5 with BlueTooth 5.0 offers more stable connection at twice of speed and four times of range of Bluetooth 4.2. The wireless range of Bluetooth 5 maxes out at 120 meters, compared to 30 meters for Bluetooth v4.2. This increase in range, plus the ability to transmit audio to two devices, means that people could send audio to multiple rooms in a house, create a stereo effect in one space, or share audio between two sets of headphones.

2. Update battery capacity from 300mAh to 500mAh

The 300 mAh battery in the BTR3 takes only 1.5 hours to fully charge but allows for a lengthy 11 hours of playback! And 500mAh battery in BTR5 delivers 12 hours of playback with 2hours quick charging.

3. Update DAC chip from AK4376A to Dual ES9218

Comparing with AK4376A DAC in the BTR3,  Dual DAC ES9218  in  BTR5  offers high resolution, clear and powerful output with low output impedance, while being very power efficient. This change not only has the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) increased, but distortion has also been reduced for greatly improved sound quality.

4.  Bigger and heavier

BTR5 size is 72*32*11.3  while BTR3 size is 58*25*10.4mm. Because of increased battery capacity, the weight of BTR5 is increased to 43.7g from 25g but it is still very convenient to take out.

Common with BTR3

It is featured with the latest high-end chip CSR8675. You’ll find a micro-USB input and a 3.5mm stereo output. BTR5 continues the cool and durable look with materials Aluminum Alloy CNC, covered with 2.5D glass on both sides.

The BTR5 amplifier featured high-performance independent CSR8675 chip supports all current wireless audio codecs – such as AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX Low Latency, aptX HD, LDAC, LHDC, and HWA. This robust format support will ensure great sound quality to give your headphones new life, and to allow them to once more to resonate with you emotionally.

Simple one-touch NFC pairing. The BTR3 can be paired to other compatible devices with just a simple tap using the NFC wireless short-range communication protocol, entirely avoiding the cumbersome traditional pairing process.

If you are looking to upgrade your listening experience from conventional headphones, purchasing a dedicated headphone amp is a definite must in order to get the most out of your headphones. Furthermore, some of these amps are powerful enough to drive high impedance audiophile-grade headphones (>200 ohms) and will literally transform your listening experience, making your music sound richer, smoother and more impactful with deeper separation and soundstage.
