Effect Audio and Elysian Acoustic Labs have come forward with a new release. Both brands are based out of Singapore and have gained expertise in their own respective fields with Effect Audio being among the top IEM cable brands while the Elysian Acoustic Labs getting recognized for its excellent in-ear monitors. Back in 2022, both brands came out together and released an outstanding IEM namely, Elysian x Effect Audio Gaea. The pair got some solid reviews from audiophiles all around the globe and is still regarded as an amazing set. Fast forward to today in 2024, when both these brands are coming together once again releasing another set of amazing in-ear monitors, introducing the all-new Effect Audio x Elysian Acoustic Labs Pilgrim: NOIR. As you might guess, the Pilgrim NOIR come as an upgraded variant for the Elysian Acoustic Labs Pilgrim, another recently launched pair by Elysian Acoustic Labs. The latest Pilgrim: NOIR has been co-tuned with Effect Audio with some noticeable upgrades in the internal arrangement, bringing better sound presentation.

Pilgrim: NOIR features a four-driver hybrid setup housing a 9.2mm LSR dynamic driver, two SONION BA drivers, and one Knowles Undamped BA Driver. The OG Pilgrim featured 9.2mm LSR DD with three SONION BA drivers. So here we have a slight change of Knowles Undamped BA driver replacing the high-frequency driver of the OG model. These drivers are arranged together in an upgraded Four-Way frequency crossover design. The 9.2mm LSR driver delivers a quick, punchy lower end, while the SONION 2300 BA unit produces rich and musical lower-mids, another SONION BA unit for clear and accurate Upper midrange, and the Knowles BA driver for enhanced, crystal clear, refined treble region. The Pilgrim NOIR sounds cleaner, and crispier sound with clearer treble region and richer midrange response, compared to the OG Pilgrim Model.

Elysian Acoustic Labs x Effect Audio Pilgrim NOIR features a new Hypercore Twin Thrust Module (HTTM) design architecture. It has dual SONION BA drivers firing into a specially crafted acoustic tube. This provides better midrange reproduction with lower distortion and resonance reflection issues in the output. This enables a rich, dynamic, smoother midrange response.

Effect Audio has designed a special high-quality internal wiring cable for the Pilgrim: NOIR. Effect Audio has over 15 years of expertise in designing premium high-end cables. They have crafted a bespoke mixture of exotic palladium, copper, and silver hybrid material cable for the internal wiring on the Pilgrim NOIR. This expertly curated blend of premium internal wiring has been done to enable smooth signal transmission with low internal resistance.

Pilgrim NOIR’s ear shells look minimalistic. They have a dense Black color finish and feature unique face panels. The faceplate design is inspired by legendary master architect Zada Hadid’s radical deconstructivist design. The serene topography of knolls with each layer purposefully reflects a gentle feel. A dark Matte Black finish also enhances the look and feel of the pair. Effect Audio has developed a special NOIR edition variant for their famous Eros S cable from the signature series. This new cable has full black sleeves and looks extraordinary enhancing the look and feel of the pair while promising high-end level sonic excellence. The cable has high purity selected silver-plated copper material wire cores. The Y-Splitter aluminum surface is treated to present a subtle spin-brushed and polished texture finish. It has interchangeable ConX and TermX connectors and a termination plug system as well.
