1. Faster SoC:-
HiBy has upgraded the Android CPU from Snapdragon 425 to Snapdragon 660 in the latest R6 2020. The Snapdragon 660 is the latest-gen of HiFi mobile CPUs from Qualcomm. It brings a drastic change in performance over the previously used Snapdragon 425 providing a buttery-smooth user interface.
2. Same Trusted DAC Chipset With Improved Hi-Res Decoding:-
The latest HiBy R6 2020 features the same trusted ES9038Q2M*2 Dual DAC chipset as its predecessors. But it features an improved USB signal receiver chip that allows for even higher bit-rate file decoding. It supports PCM decoding up to 32-Bit/768kHz while the previous models supported up to 32-Bit/384kHz. Similarly, R6 2020 supports DSD512 decoding over the DSD256 in the previous versions.
3. Full 16x MQA Unfolding:-
HiBy R6 2020 supports full 16x MQA decoding. MQA support was also added for the R6 and R6 Pro but they supported only up to 8x unfolding, but with the R6 2020 users can fully decode MQA files with up to 16x unfolding.
4. Updated Bluetooth Support:-
All we can say is the best just got better here. The Bluetooth connectivity is upgraded in the R6 2020 from V4.2 to V5.0. It supports all the latest high-resolution wireless codecs such as UAT, LDAC, AptX HD, AptX, and more. It also provides better, more stable connections when compared to the previous versions.
5. Better, Independent Power Supply:-
HiBy has redesigned the power supply architecture for the R6 2020. It provides a current-output for the output with high-grade independent power to each component on the audio circuit, reducing any chances of electrical noise or distortion.
6. Systemwide Direct Transport Architecture(DTA):-
The HiBy R6 2020 features HiBy’s self-developed Direct Transport Architecture(DTA). It is a custom Android architecture that supports bit-perfect sound decoding on non-resampling output from all apps. It transfers the audio signal from the USB signal receiver chip directly to the DAC chip for decoding by-passing Android audio schematics.
7. All-new Looks & Design:-
Recently HiBy redesigned its high-tier audio product range with its latest HiBy R8 flagship device. The design and aesthetics of the R6 2020 are similar to that flagship. 8. Bigger, Better Display:-
Instead of a 768p 4.2” display, the R6 2020 has an upgraded 5.0” display with full HD 1080p resolution. It provides ultimate clarity with vivid colors.
9. Increased RAM and ROM:-
HiBy has increased the RAM in R6 2020 from 3GB to 4GB. With increased RAM applications load faster and provide smooth UI. They have also doubled the internal storage from 32GB to 64GB for the R6 2020. The latest R6 2020 supports an external memory cards up to 2TB while the previous models supported up to 512GB only.
10. 4.4mm Line-Out:-
The HiBy R6 2020 is equipped with four different output ports. Two 3.5mm and two 4.4mm ports. One of each provides headphone output while the other one provides line-out. The R6 2020 is the first in its series to provide a balanced line-out, on previous models(R6/R6 Pro) only 3.5mm SE line-out was available. Also no 4.4mm port on the R6 2017 only 2.5mm balanced.
11. Price Change:-
Obviously, all these changes have affected the price of the latest R6 2020. It has a price tag of 799$ while the original R6 was priced at 469$. Though looking at its feature sheet, the R6 2020 is a high-tier product and justifies its price tag with its high-end features.
