Tanchjim Hana IEM Quick Review:- Beautiful Looks, Powerful Sound!

Tanchjim released its latest Tanchjim Hana pair of single DD driver in-ear monitors quite recently. The pair got the hype with its rich premium looks matching design with those of the brand's most famous Tanchjim Oxygen IEMs. Not just the design the Hana also uses a similar single dynamic driver unit on each side. The drivers are enclosed in beautiful stainless steel shells which are made precisely with 5-axis CNC machined technology. The smooth surface has gone through a super-high temperature coloring treatment and has outstanding looks to them. I got interested in the pair ever since its announcement last month and was waiting for it ever since then. It has a budget price of 159.99$, I just couldn't resist looking at this price and got a unit for myself. Check more details here.

Tanchjim Hana-1

Today I am going to share my unboxing impressions and my quick review for this beautiful looking IEM. So before wasting any more time, let's begin.

Unboxing Impressions:-

The Tanchjim Hana comes in very beautiful and elegant packaging. The packaging also has a white, beige contrast just like the pair itself. It is a small rectangular box with white color outer packaging and beige inner cardboard package. The box has an image of the beautiful Tanchjim Hana on the front with the Tanchjim Hana branding logo on the upper corner. The inner beige cardboard package is what that contains my pair of earphones along with a good quality carry case in white color. It is a zipper carry case and has ample space for carrying the Hana along with its cable safe and sound. It also has six pairs of silicone tips in white color, a few pairs of replaceable mesh filters, and some Tanchjim branding info and user guide. The cable included in the package looks pretty good for its price point. It is quite flexible and has a covering all around it. It has 0.78mm 2-pin connectors which look quite strong and connects firmly to the IEM's. The cable has a 3.5mm single-ended termination plug.

Tanchjim Hana-2

The Tanchjim Hana has a superb package, which looks elegant and quite beautiful. It surely feels premium looking at the package of this pair no one can say that it costs below 200$.

Build Quality:-

Before listening to the Tancjim Hana for the first time, I spent some time just looking at the beautiful earpieces. They are made with perfection. Have a similar design to the famous Tanchjim Oxygen, the Hana looks different in its own way. The earpieces are made with high quality 316 stainless steel with 5-axis CNC machine technology. They go through super-high temperature coloring treatment that provides them a beautiful white finish. The earpieces look outstanding, with a white beige contrast. The right earpiece has Tanchjim branding logo in beige on the faceplate while the left earpiece has HANA printed on the faceplate. Even though they are made up of stainless steel material, they are quite lightweight and provide a firm fit for me. I never faced any issues regarding fit with the pair. The ear nozzle goes quite deep for me and provided me with good isolation levels blocking the environmental noises completely.

Tanchjim Hana-3

The pair is built with perfection, the color contrast, the stainless steel shells, everything looks just perfect. In terms of build quality, the Tanchjim Hana looks just perfectly built, no complaints here.

Sound Quality:-

Well, in terms of sound quality I don't know where to start exactly first of all it doesn't sound anything like the Harman-tuned Tanchjim Oxygen even though both feature single DD on each side. The Tanchjim has a smooth deep bass response, rich detailed vocals, and an energetic treble portion. Though I feel like the upper mids and lower treble to be a bit shouty. Vocals feel a bit sharp at high volumes. Though I must say the instrument details are pretty crisp and well detailed. By covering my entire ear canal, the pair seals my ear completely and provides me excellent noise isolation. I always have to pull them out whenever I have someone to talk to as it blocks the noises completely.

Lower End/Bass:-

The lower end in the Tanchjim Hana is pretty solid. It has depth, layers, and powerful thumps. It complements EDM, Hip-Hop music with its solid beats and thumps. Drum thumps hit the right spots and show well-timed bass decay. It is controlled within its region and doesn't overlap with the other segments of the frequency range. It shows good rumble in the sub-bass portion as well. Tracks like Bad Guy by Billie Ellish, Instant Crush by Daft Punk are really enjoyable here, the pair complements with them nicely.

Mids:-

The mid frequencies are quite transparent. The vocals are crisp and sharp. They feel shouty to me at high volumes, though I must say the pair produces brilliant rich acoustic details. I usually listen at low volumes, so faced no issues. But the pair sounds shouty at louder volumes. I listen to Damien Rice, Yao Si Ting, both have beautiful vocals, and I enjoy them with the pair as they sound crisp.

Treble:-

This is the area where it gets a little bit off for me. The pair has a shouty lower treble portion though it produces crisp details in instruments and there is no sign of sibilance in any of the instruments. But I personally feel like instruments like Violins, Flutes, sound harsh(again at loud volumes). By loud I mean about 70-80% volume. I listen to music about 50-60% volume levels, so I don't face any issues as such.

Soundstage and Imaging:-

The Tanchjim Hana has a beautiful wide soundstage with brilliant imaging capabilities. The soundstage is wide enough for any genre to listen to with the pair. I have tested Rock, Hip-hop, EDM, Vocals, and more. I never felt the stage to be narrow and enjoyed my music well with the pair.

Final Verdict:-

Tanchjim Hana-5

Finally, I must say the Tanchjim Hana offers good crisp sound quality with a beautiful rich build. I have been using the pair as my daily driver for quite some time now, as the peaks in upper mids and treble don't bother me much. I listen to music at around 50-60% volume levels and find no trouble or harshness at this level. Though whenever I increase the volume it does sound a little bit harsh in vocals as they become shouty. At its price point it's a good buy, I can't say that there are better options available at this price, It offers crisp clarity at its price with rich bass quality, crisp vocals, and well-detailed treble. It is available at a price of 159.99$, check out more details here.
