The pair adopts a quad-driver hybrid setup featuring three dynamic drivers and one planar driver. Each driver is carefully chosen and placed in a precisely designed acoustic cavity structure so as to take full benefit of their acoustics without introducing multi-driver distortion in the output. TRN Shell is professionally tuned to deliver a clean, precise, and accurate sound that will suit most genres of music. TRN has designed the latest Shell with a unique driver setup. The pair has a four-driver hybrid setup on each side. It comes equipped with three dynamic drivers and a planar driver on each side. Each driver is carefully chosen and tuned to deliver an impressive sound presentation. We have a 10.5mm large-sized beryllium-plated dynamic driver for a strong lower-end response, an 8mm PET diaphragm dd unit for accurate and defined midrange response, a 6mm titanium-plated dynamic driver to deliver a quality high-frequency response, and a 6mm planar driver that handles the ultra-high-frequency band. In recent times, we have seen many implementations of micro-planars for the ultra-high frequency band, the latest TRN Shell brings that exquisite and delicate experience for its listeners.

TRN has crafted the pair with ultimate precision. The ear shells look absolutely amazing with high-quality Liquid Metal material build. The ear shells are finished with the Electroplating process and multiple other complex processes. As mentioned earlier in this blog, the pair is inspired by the beautiful Shells resting at the ocean bed. One can notice that inspiration with the streamlined face covers that gives the pair a sleek, modern design.

TRN Shell comes with three sets of swappable tuning nozzles. These are user-replaceable with a quick-release screw-in mechanism on the shells. TRN bundles three sets, each having a unique inner diameter and mesh filter density. They bring noticeable changes in the output, promising three signatures with a single set. The nozzles have different colored silicone ring that sets them apart from each other. We have a transparent sound profile on the Black silicone ring nozzle, a reference tuning profile on the Green silicone ring nozzle, and an atmospheric tuning profile on the Red silicone ring nozzle.

TRN Shell comes with a rich set of accessories. We have a full range of ear tips, including 13 pairs of different types and sizes of ear tips. Along with that, we also get a strong earphone carrying case and a high-purity flagship-level stock cable. It is a 4-strand silver-plated hybrid cable with 2-pin 0.78mm connectors and a replaceable termination plug system. The package includes 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced termination plugs.
