Studio2 is designed with a dual balanced armature driver configuration. Softears has entrusted the 22955 balanced armature driver unit to handle the bass and midrange sections on the Studio2. Its long-stroke diaphragm delivers a clean and robust lower-end response. The pair delivers powerful bass region with clear beats. It also produces an accurate midrange with golden vocals. Vocals on the Studio2 are tuned for a neutral and reference-grade natural tonality. They show amazing clarity and clean, textured response. Softears has also equipped an accompanying customised high-frequency balanced armature driver unit with the 22955. It delivers clear harmonics with crisp, well-defined vocals and instruments in the high-frequency band. Together, this dual driver setup achieves a wide frequency response range of 5Hz~40kHz.

Softears has developed the Studio2 with an innovative 2+1 crossover design. The pair features independent tubes for both the drivers, and a spiral-shaped tube around the bass driver tube. This spiral acoustic duct enhances the ultra-low sub-bass region frequencies and reproduces good extensions in the sub-bass region. This technology is registered by Softears with the name SoftPiral Technology. Professional acoustic engineers have further enhanced the tuning of the Studio2 for a reference-grade neutral sound profile.
