At the heart of the SMSL DS20, we have a high-performance quad DAC setup featuring four units of 32-bit CS43131 DAC chips. They bring impressive high-resolution audio signal processing characteristics with the DS20 promising high SNR, DNR, and ultra-low THD+N Performance. This setup is supported by a 3rd generation XMOS XU316 16-core USB processor that brings support for 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD256 audio signals. SMSL DS20 also supports 8x MQA unfolding, bringing you closer to studio-grade HiFi audio.

SMSL has features of its self-developed PLFC fully-balanced headphone amplification setup on the DS20. It provides clean, powerful output, reaching up to 500mW per channel through the balanced port. The output is clean and has low output impedance, making the DS20 an ideal choice for both sensitive as well as high-power requiring IEMs and Headphones. The DAC/Amp features dual headphone output ports, a 3.5mm single-ended output and another 4.4mm balanced output port. SMSL DS20  features a dedicated low-jitter audio clock circuit that provides enhanced output with ultra-low jitter. This results in clean, detailed output with enhanced soundstage and micro details.

SMSL DS20 has a robust build with a modern design look. The device has a transparent front panel, through which the entire audio circuitry is visible. On the back side, we have a magnet built in that provides a firm connection to the back of your smartphone. The DAC/AMP supports dual USB modes, UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0. With the UAC1.0 mode, the DS20 is compatible with gaming consoles such as Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation. UAC 2.0 mode makes it compatible with modern devices, including smartphones, tablets, and more.
