Shanling Launches M7T Dual AK4498EX Dual JAN6418 Tubes Digital Audio Player

Shanling has unveiled something brand new recently, something that takes the M7 series to new heights, introducing the Shanling M7T.  Just like the flagship M8T, the “T” in the name of M7T stands for Tubes. The music player has a dual DAC arrangement featuring two brand new AKM AK4498EX DAC chips along with an AK4191 modulator. Additionally, we have dual sound modes, Tube and Transistor. At the heart of Shanling M7T, we have a professionally designed audio circuitry consisting of a dual-DAC arrangement. The player is equipped with two AKM AK4498EX DAC chips with an AK4191 modulator chipset. This high-end DAC arrangement promises top-quality performance with high SNR, DNR, and ultra-low THD+N characteristics. It supports high-resolution audio signal processing with full support for 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD1024 audio signals natively. AKM’s latest DAC(AK4498EX) has a smooth, lush sound profile which brings your favourite music to life with its unmatched clarity and punchy bass response.

The main attraction on the M7T is its dual JAN6418 vacuum tubes. Placed firmly onto the top side of the device, the tubes are perfectly locked in a safe, vibration-proof compartment. They add a smooth, lush tonality to the sound when the M7T is used in Tube mode. It gets a musical touch with lovely vocals. For the transistor mode, Shanling has featured an optimized amp section with dual OPA2211, dual MUSES8920, and a quad BUF634A OPAMP arrangement. In transistor mode, the M7T packs a modern output with fast transients and next-level clarity. Shanling has adjusted the M7T for a true reference-grade sound performance in both modes.

The M7T features a Snapdragon 665 SoC chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Loaded with Android 13 OS, the device has responsive application performance and has seamless integration with the latest applications on the Google Play Store. Shanling M7T has a robust build; the music player is made using high-quality magnesium-aluminium alloy material. It has a unibody design and packs a 5” full HD display screen. The player also has 3.5mm and 4.4mm dual headphone outputs and also supports SPDIF coaxial output via the 3.5mm port.
